Why Flannel

Flannel is a wonderful fabric that has many uses. Often times used in shirts, sheets, and sleepwear. It has a soft feel even though the thread count is relatively low. The reason for this is the loose weave that flannel is woven with. This loose weave produces a soft yet warm fabric that lends itself well to making luxurious and comfortable items. Wool flannel can also provide wonderful warmth with easy breathability. Flannel is a wonderful choice for clothing and bedding options.

Types of Flannel

There are three main type of flannel used today:

• Cotton Flannel
• Wool Flannel
• Blended Flannel

Blended flannel is made by blending two fabrics together, such as a cotton wool blend. Some cotton flannel is blended with Rayon to make a synthetic material. If you have allergies you may need to make sure that you choose a 100% natural blend as Rayon will make the flannel a synthetic.
